The poignant aviation short, Angel Fleet will seek to add to its awards cabinet next weekend after being confirmed as a finalist in the 2024 Independent Shorts Awards ‘Best Drama Short’ category.

Set to take place in Los Angeles on September 14th, the awards ceremony will celebrate some of the best independent short films from around the world in a glittering awards ceremony and red carpet event at Regal Cinemas LA Live (1000 W Olympic Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90015).

The celebration will see 71 films from 15 countries screened in 3 auditoriums, with a Q&A session, cocktail party, and red carpet photocall capped by the hotly anticipated awards ceremony.

Filmed on location around West Sussex in the UK, Angel Fleet tells the story of a lost aviator and his family’s grief following their tragic loss. It has been warmly received by audiences worldwide after screening in locations as diverse as Australia, Brazil, and Switzerland. It will seek to add the 2024 Independent Shorts Awards ‘Best Drama Short’ award to its lengthy list of accolades.

Angel Fleet was produced by the award-winning Sussex production company Fact Not Fiction Films and directed by Tristan Loraine. Herb Jackson Jr. served as Executive Producer. The cast includes Darcey Jacobs, Millie Lewis, Jessica Hilliard, and Shaun Morton. The film also features a cameo by Europe’s last remaining airworthy ‘Flying Fortress,’ the 79-year-old Sally B B-17 bomber.

Herb Jackson Jr. said, "I'll never forget the moment Tristan and I submitted our film, hoping for the best. Here we are a year later, thrilled that Angel Fleet is now a finalist for the 'Best Drama Short' award. It's truly amazing!"
